Red Onions

Red onions, Leonardo said,
Surpass most paintings
In beauty — their beauty
Or fairness, as it’s called as well —
Fairness, which is also known
As justice, a balance,
a fair distribution —
And likewise injustice, unfairness
is ugly: the thousands of bodies
of dolphins rotting
Up and down the coast of France,
The slums of the planet,
For what
The stripped seas?
How many onions can one person eat?
