Film director Oliver Stone established an offshore trust in the tax haven of Lichtenstein, I reported here last week. Herbert Batliner, a lawyer and offshore specialist, set up Stone’s trust, which the film director apparently did not declare to the IRS. Stone did not comment for the story.
“Batliner, a respected lawyer in Vaduz, knows how to handle the assets of foreigners as discreetly as if they were non-existent,” Der Spiegel wrote about Stone’s attorney in 1997, nearly two decades back.

Except me to dribble out more about this Washington Babylon exclusive at some point next week.
