A Florida woman allegedly suffocated her 4-year-old daughter and threw her body in a dumpster. Tina Farrington, 31, was arrested and held without bond at the Miami-Dade County jail on a first-degree murder charge, the Daily Mail reports.

The body of Tania Paige was found in the dumpster by a man who was throwing out garbage. Farrington allegedly suffocated Tania with a pillow on Halloween after becoming angry with her, according to an arrest report cited by the Sun-Sentinel. “The defendant became upset after hearing the victim talk back to her,” the report said.

When asked for details regarding the child’s alleged sassy behavior, police declined to elaborate. “They’re not going to go into that here and now,” said Det. Artemis Colome. “They won’t give that information out this quick.”

The report says the mother was home with Tania and the child’s younger brother when the alleged murder took place around 7 p.m. A police spokeswoman said she did not know whether or not the boy witnessed his sister’s killing.

She then “lured” Tania and her brother to her bedroom, where she used a pillow to suffocate her daughter, police said.

Police said Farrington hid Tania’s body in the trunk of her car for several days until the smell became too strong, after which she threw it in a dumpster in the apartment complex where she lived.

According to investigators, bruises were visible on Tania’s arms, legs and torso, despite the body’s decomposition.

According to the arrest report, Farrington “provided a detailed confession regarding her involvement in the death of the victim.” It is unknown whether or not a defense attorney was present during the confession.

In August, another Florida mom was charged with killing and hiding the dead body of her child, as reported by the Daily Mail.

In that case, Keishanna Thomas was convicted of killing her 11-year-old daughter and keeping her in a freezer, pleading no contest to aggravated child abuse and abuse of a dead body.

The daughter, Janiya, reportedly suffered from severe incontinence. “That’s one of the reasons the mother was frustrated with the child and kept the child in the bathroom at her residence,” explained Bradenton Police Department spokesman Lt. James Racky.
