From Carlos Danger to “Mongoose”: Ex-Congressman Weiner’s latest sexting problems

The New York Post, which covered our debut item about former congressman Anthony Weiner’s alleged ongoing sexting problem, has two new stories on the subject. The one on Saturday said that the “pervy pol” had recently been sexting with “Nikki,” a hot young student, and bragging about being “deceptively strong,” like a “mongoose.”

Yeah, no doubt about it, a man comparing himself to a mongoose is a time-tested pick-up line guaranteed to bring results. And it did.

The only problem was that there was no Nikki. The boneheaded Weiner had been catfished by a male college Republican, who wondered how easy it would be to lure the twisted Weiner into “saying something stupid.” The answer: about 20 minutes.

Weiner — who is married to Huma Abedin, Hillary Clinton’s top campaign aide and major fundraiser — was out in Los Angeles for an appearance on “Real Time with Bill Maher” when Nikki retweeted one of his posts and commented on it. Things took a turn towards sexual banter immediately. Here’s a brief exchange, according to the Post.

Weiner: “Funny scene here. I moved the tv so I could hear/see it while in the shower. I dropped it. Neighbor complained. Me Towel. Tv. Floor. And now concierge on the way.”

The student, a New Yorker using a female friend’s Twitter account and calling himself “Nikki,” responds, “Come out with just the towel on when he/she knocks, would pretty much = a tip for the concierge.”

To make a long story short, Nikki, who told Weiner she was wearing “strappy black heels,” brought the conversation to a close when Weiner gave her his cellphone number and tried to get her to meet. “The amount of effort this took was the most alarming thing given his history,” the catfisher told the newspaper.

For his part, Weiner copped to the conversation but claimed, quite improbably, that he knew he was being catfished and was just playing along.

Meanwhile, the Post reported today that the Democratic Mongoose will cross party lines, at least when it comes to procuring sexting parters. Last year, the newspaper reported, he lewdly reached out to at least two women, one a prominent Republican and the other a COP campaign volunteer. Both blew him off.

For the record, we here at Washington Babylon don’t plan to cover shriveled up Weiner on a regular basis, but there is a serious side to this story. Sexting between consenting adults obviously poses no issues, but this guy clearly has a problem. He’s admitted to multiple sexting partners over the years and keeps doing it despite the insane risks.

If his partners are college-age women, they should know better. If he’s communicating with high-school age girls, law enforcement should probably take a look.
